Due to Coronavirus/Covid-19, OACI will be utilizing Zoom for online webinars, seminars and meetings in lieu of holding in-person events for this event and depending on regulations and safety, likely for other upcoming events as well.

This presentation will cover topics that affect the structural and long-term durability performance of concrete floors. This includes slabs on ground, slabs on metal deck and topping slabs. ACI guidelines will be reviewed with a focus on concrete materials and technology. Advanced mix designs and specialty admixtures allow for extending the joint spacing in slabs while minimizing the cracks. Using fiber-reinforcement, where possible, will allow for faster construction, reduction in labor and improved crack control in slabs. Topical treatments such as sealers and densifiers improve the topical properties of concrete floors and will be briefly discussed.
